Fourth Edition Is Here

Nomad Magazine — our new edition is out

Nomad Magazine Edition Four Cover

The fourth edition of Nomad Magazine is here — and after two years of growing, it’s the one I’m most proud of.

In our first three editions we spent a lot of time on the human side of this lifestyle: mindfulness, relationships, loneliness, and the communities that make remote life feel less “remote.” This time, in our fourth edition, we decided to try something new. We went deeper into one of the questions I hear the most: “Which nomad destinations are growing right now?”

In this edition we explore places that are gaining real momentum—including Fukuoka, Japan; Bansko, Bulgaria; Madeira, Portugal; and a fresh one for us all: Palermo, Italy. We focused on the kind of insights you only get by being there and talking to people on the ground. We traveled to each destination, interviewed locals, founders, community builders, and nomads, and brought you behind-the-scenes perspectives.

As always, we publish a mix of topics. This issue includes raising kids on the move, queer nomad viewpoints, travel fashion tips, and a beautiful van-life photo story. One of my personal favorites explains online education possibilities for creative careers—not only through private online courses, but also through a British university offering courses online. We also have a special guest: Traveling with Kristin (Kristin Wilson), one of the most well-known digital nomad and travel YouTubers, sharing her perspective after more than thirteen years on the road. For the cover, to feature the spirit of Palermo, we invited the talented illustrators Claudia Brüggen and Molly Maine. We added the Nomad Directory and coworking space features so you can discover projects and brands that make digital nomad life simpler. And we simplified the design—still us, but more inviting to read. Thank you for being here.

Why we make this magazine

Nomad Magazine is a print and digital publication about digital nomad life, created in 2024, as an alternative to the AI + SEO noise dominating the internet. Every piece we publish is written by real people, edited by two high-end editors, and designed page by page and carefully curated by me. We publish articles you can sit with like a book, without interruptions.

We love print. Although, creating a physical edition is an exciting but genuinely painful process, and that's exactly why it is valuable. And we offer a digital version through our mobile distribution partners for those who prefer to read on mobile.

We love digital nomad life and supporting its future because it gives people a real choice about how they live: improving quality of life, offering more opportunities, building international experience, and connecting communities that wouldn't otherwise exist. At the same time we support the projects and brands that work with passion, to make that life easier.

And we genuinely believe Nomad Magazine is a unique, standout project, and we put our heart into it. For us, it's not only a magazine (or a digital platform) that connects people, it's also a project that supports local communities and helps us grow into a better global society.

— Lera, Founder & CEO of Nomad Magazine
